It has been our experience that a pond that is maintained correctly through the season does not need annual complete draining of the pond and replacing with new water. Often the pond will look much worse in just a few weeks than it did before the drain/ clean out. Pond debris less than two inches on the bottom of the pond can be eradicated with filtration and water treatments.
